The neighborhood

Borne is one of the trendiest neighborhoods these days! Get lost in the many boutiques and discover the cocktail bars…Borne is becoming more and more popular every year. It must be the medieval street flair and the proximity to the beach which makes it so special. You can find the best tapas bars and mojitos along the famous Paseo del Borne. Its a vibrant area which has so much more to offer than just good food and drinks.

El Borne isn’t just about the nightlife as there is plenty of culture around every corner. For example Calle Montcada used to be a medieval street and now has the Picasso museum and the Textile Museum. There are many art galleries and small pedestrian streets where you can spend all day wandering around living the “Borne Experience”. Many people are attracted to Borne for the shopping which consists of some amazing but pricey boutiques and shoe shops. Beautiful Santa Maria del Mar church is located right in the middle of this neighborhood. The Ramblas are only a 10 minute walk away and the beach can also be reached by foot in less than 15 minutes.

One of Borne’s greatest sites definitely is the Ciutadella Parc which is one of the few green areas in Barcelona. It is a great place for a picnic and to watch the hippies play their drums. Not far from Plaza Catalunya you can find the famous Arc de Triumf which comes with a beautiful pedestrian street full of palm trees and Gaudi’s streetlights. If you are looking for something to do with your Kids on the weekend, the Barcelona zoo is also located in Borne and definitely worth a visit!
