SPACCA NAPOLI
This Neapolitan owned restaurant in El Born offers amazing traditional pizzas that you will absolutely love! The crust is puffy on the edges, but thin and soft in the centre. Their tomato sauce is simple but tasty, something not so easy to find, and it gives the pizza that authentic Italian flavour we all crave. Some basil and little mozzarella on top is all you need to have a really amazing pizza experience! Of course, they offer other toppings too, pasta dishes and a nice range of drinks and traditional Italian appetisers. Their pizza is surprisingly light, so you can easily finish it, have a coffee and continue exploring the city!
FRANKIE GALLO
South of the Raval neighbourhood you will find this modern pizza place that offers very innovative and surprisingly tasty pizzas! They put special care in their ingredients and follow artisanal processes to ensure quality; choosing the best flours four their sour dough, and the most natural, organic and freshest produce. This results in a very healthy and delicious range of pizzas with lots of meat free options. The restaurant itself is really interesting, with lots of funky decorations and perfect for both lunch and dinner. Definitely give it a try!
N.A.P
Already a classic, the N.A.P (that stands for “Neapolitan Authentic Pizza”), will deliver what you’re looking for. It has two locations, one next to the Santa Caterina Market and a newer one (N.A.P Mar) that has more sitting space. Today we will talk about the original one in El Born; it is quite minimal in space and design, and everything happens around their open kitchen and big pizza oven. While you’re waiting, you can see how the experienced Italian cooks prepare your pizza with ease and at an incredible speed! The result is a big, thin crusted pizza with delicious ingredients that you can enjoy at one of the tables or for take away. You will not be disappointed!
SPORTS BAR ITALIAN FOOD
This is a very popular place among Italians, which is always a good sign! Don’t be confused by the name; the owners are dedicated football fans, always rooting for their national teams, but using every inch of their restaurant’s decoration for all kinds of football paraphernalia from teams around the world. Their love for sports is only challenged by their love for authentic Italian pizza! They serve one of the best in the city, in a very friendly atmosphere replicated in various locations throughout Barcelona. They make a soft and spongy pizza crust with delicious tomato and stretchy mozzarella cheese on top. Pizza is the star but they offer other amazing dishes too if you’re in the mood for something else. Super recommended!
LA PIZZA DEL SORTIDOR
Another authentic pizza place to try, “La Pizza del Sortidor” has 3 restaurants and a smaller location that serves their pizzas by the slice. There’s usually a line outside, that’s how good their pizzas are! Here you’ll find the classic pizza as well as many other variations; they offer lots of veggie options too. The staff is very attentive and friendly, ready to recommend the perfect option for you. You’ll get a yummy crust baked in a wood oven with all your favourite toppings melting on top; Enjoy it with a refreshing drink and finish your meal with their specialty dessert – you’ll have to go there to find out! This place is beloved by locals for very good reasons, so it is worthy of a visit – you will surely want to go back for more!
