Studying in Barcelona! Always a great idea!
Barcelona has become a very popular destination for university students from all over Europe and the rest of the world. Barcelona does not only offer programs for young undergraduate students, but also for those who want to do a master’s degree and already have some work experience. Or even if you want to learn Spanish and sign up for a language course for a couple of months. The city of Barcelona has this dynamic and international atmosphere thanks to its open mind and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Studying in Barcelona is a wonderful plan!
Barcelona is the headquarter for some of the most important universities and business schools in Spain and Europe. Just to mention some of the most famous private Business Schools in Barcelona like IESE, ESADE, EADA and EAE. And of course the public ones: University of Barcelona (UB), the Autonomous University (UAB), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and many more. This city has something to offer for everyone! We will be writing about each of the above-mentioned universities in our blog, so that you can read about each one and you can choose the one you like most.
Found a university, but where shall I live?
Surely you wonder in which neighborhood you should live as there are so many options in Barcelona. We recommend to move to an area near your university as you will have to go very often and your fellow students will live close by! Most popular locations for students are barrios near the center of the city (Barrio Gotico, Borne, La Barceloneta). If you are new in the city and on a tight budget, it is a good idea to find a shared flat. This way you meet many different people you can share this beautiful experience with. No matter what neighborhood you choose, you will always have restaurants, bars and clubs nearby.

In addition, Barcelona is a Mediterranean city where you can enjoy both sea and mountains in just half an hour, with an exceptional climate throughout the year and with a comfortable transport network with which to move to any local, regional and national point in just a short time. After a few days in Barcelona, people realize that it is like living at home.
The people are super friendly, from different countries but always with a smile and a good sense of humor. Students become friends that they have for life, people are from different countries and speak many languages. It is a time that you will never forget.
