You will love its attractions, especially if you like to eat delicious food, the sea and surfing. Let us tell you a bit more about the history of this neighborhood… The twentieth century meant the opening of the city of Barcelona towards the beaches. The beaches, which were appearing along the coast, had a special importance in the Barceloneta neighbourhood because this way the gastronomy started. Bars, restaurants and cafes were opened because more and more visitors came looking for the sea. The beach clearly is the most important attraction of Barceloneta and it is full of tourists and locals all summer. In addition, you will always find street vendors offering everything from donuts to water, and from massages to bikinis, you could spend the whole day at the beach without having to move. There are also beach bars everywhere, where music and snacks are served. Barceloneta offers a real good vibe!
It is a place that has a lot of life, where you can meet friends to sunbathe or relax with a good book at the beach. Even on colder days you can sit with blankets in the sun and enjoy the views. For surf fans, there are many schools you can attend and practice, in a few classes they can already stand on their boards!

If you want to walk around and explore the neighbourhood, you can walk on the Passeig Juan de Borbon and see all the cafes and ice cream parlors. And if you prefer a better view, you have a lot of restaurants that overlook the marina. In addition, you can find several attractions for the family. The aquarium for example, which is the largest in Europe, the IMAX cinemas, which are appropriate for children and to escape heat and rain. Another interesting point is the Montjuïc Cable Car. It is an impressive experience because from there you can enjoy fascinating views of the entire city.
