Show your creativity and draw in Barcelona!
Creativity, fun and learning are some of the main features of the “Barcelona Dibuixa” – Big Draw Event, a celebration of arts made available to all types of audiences! When is it happening? This weekend, on October 20th 2019.
Founded in 2000, The Big Draw is a charity oriented to artistic education, which promotes visual reading and the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and creation. Other spaces that also participate this year are: the Joan Miró Foundation, the MACBA, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia and the Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona. “Barcelona Dibuixa” is the drawing festival of the city of Barcelona, it t offers up to 48 free workshops where children and adults can share their creativity and explore the possibilities offered by pencil and paper.
What are the elements used? Pencils, charcoal and pastels. On cardboard, on the walls, with your hands or with sponges. The idea is to experiment with all kinds of materials, be free to create and have fun.. It is the perfect excuse to rediscover the city through culture, art, design, music and theater. This time, Barcelona Dibuixa is presented in more neighborhoods than in previous editions. Some of the artists will be the Fabra i Coats, the Mercat de les Flors, l’Auditori or the Palau de la Virreina. In cultural centers such as MACBA, the Ethnological Museum and Cultures of the Món, the Blueproject Foundation or the Picasso Museum. Or under the open sky, as in the Paseo del Born or in the Pati d’Armes of the Castell de Montjuïc. This year you can enjoy the workshop of HEROGRAPHICS, a workshop that deals between calligraphy, hieroglyphic writing and emojis. The workshop is inspired by hypergraphy, a practice that mixes writing and drawing and was developed by the avant-garde movement called Lyricism.
