The Glòries Bloom Art Fest explodes in Barcelona
What is urban art? The concept of urban art, which is a translated version of the English expression “Street art”, refers to all the art that is made on the street. This type of urban art includes Graffiti, being the first artistic expression associated with the streets, but there are other ways of artistic expression such as posters and stickers.
The objective of urban art is to try to surprise the observers since normally this type of work is carried out in public areas that are frequented a lot. All the works usually carry a very striking message, this message is usually revolutionary that criticizes society above all but with a certain irony and tries to incite a social struggle, other messages are only a political criticism or a simple reflection In Barcelona there are all kinds of Street Art art, many signed by internationally known artists. And when you see them, then yes: take out your phone, take a photo and share it on the social networks. Surely, you will get more ‘likes’ than you imagine.
All this can be seen in the Glòries shopping center, in this opportunity they join this passion and it is shown as a multidisciplinary cultural space creating, together with the Urban Art Barcelona, the Bloom Art Fest. You can see artists live, painting live on a large canvas, every evening from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, from Wednesday to Saturday, the festival will also host the exhibition “Street Art Road”, a collective exhibition composed of 80 works on canvas. Today, the Peruvian artist resident in Barcelona, Fer Ioke, will be performing, followed by Jofre Oliveras, Sebastien Waknine, a Londoner based in Barcelona, and Ivana Flores.
