The POBLENOU OPENDAY on May 4th 2019
You have not heard about it yet? It is a meeting organized by the Poblenou Urban District that invites everyone to know some of the district’s most emblematic spaces and projects throughout the day. In this 7th edition there is a program full of concerts, workshops and various other events. From 12 am to 11 pm, more than 80 spaces, including art galleries, creation and training centers, artists’ studios, audiovisual production companies, gastronomic spaces, shops or hotels are added to this proposal, offering a full program of free activities and promotions specials organized only for this great occasion.
In addition to all the
activities that can be enjoyed organized by the participating spaces, there
will be new editions of Windows Art Circuit, a proposal to give visibility to a
selection of artists from muralists, painters and photographers, to illustrators,
sculptors and multimedia artists , this tour proposes a total overview of the
emerging art of the city that will exhibit their works, make a call to the
artists to send their project proposals for the Window Art Circuit / WAC, and
to the musicians for the first edition of the Music Urban Circuit / MUC. Some of the key points to consider during the day will be an Urban
Rooftop with Van Van Market at the headquarters of PlayGround offices
presenting a unique dining experience, an Urban Hub at Simon’s headquarters
with music and art, as well as exhibitions or the Mercat Fira de Bellcaire ‘Els
Encants Vells’, which opens its space with Street Food and live music and art.
This Open Call is open to proposals of new styles
or different formats and to support emerging creators, so if you are an artist
/ musician, you could be part of this tour through iconic and unique spaces and
literally give life to the city. And for those passionate
about technology, the Makerspaces Circuit will focus on digital innovation, 3D
manufacturing and technological research in the hands of the creators who work
in this sector. The Simon building is transformed for a day into the
Urban Hub, a space where lectures, exhibitions, workshops, performances, live
art and music, gastronomy … and much more will take place.
Another point that you will not want to miss will be located on the Playground terrace. Street food, art and music will meet at the Urban Rooftop, an interdisciplinary meeting that will also include the concerts and DJs of the Music Urban Circuit. But the main course comes from the hand of Van Van: the diners will meet, in groups of 100 people, in the LONG TABLE, a table of 30 meters where they can taste the creations that the chefs of the project have prepared especially for this occasion.
