Where to see and dance Flamenco in Barcelona
Flamenco is a characteristic of Spain and in Barcelona we can find it in many different places, in dance centers, theaters, on the street and even in souvenir shops.
But where was flamenco actually born? In Andalucia, in southern Spain! Flamenco was born within a multicultural environment. Gypsies, Arabs, Jews and Christians mixed elements of their respective cultures with traditional elements and adducts. African influences were also incorporated that recognized the black Africans who passed through Andalusia and the Caribbeans and arrived in Spain.
It is a mixture of dancing, singing and the guitar. It is known for the great emotional intensity. Nowadays flamenco is appreciated and practiced in many places around the world.
