All you need is Brunch…!
Lately having a Sunday Brunch has almost turned more popular than a Saturday night dinner. There are many fabulous places to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon on a nice terrace out in the sun while
My absolute favorite spot for Brunch is called AVENUE BAR in Torrent del Olla in the trendy Gracia neighborhood. Why do I love this place so much?
For once because the decoration is so original and you can spend hours looking around and discovering cool things about the place. Another fun fact is that the service is actually amazing and super helpful. This is something that doesn’t happen so often in Barcelona so it needs to be valued. Lets talk about the most important fact now- The Food! At Avenue Bar they have this incredible Brunch deal which includes coffee, toast with marmalade, one main dish from the menu, pancakes AND the best is yet to come: All you can drink Bellini or Mimosa. You get all this for only 17 Euros. I can especially recommend the Eggs Benedict, I know it’s a classic but it’s just so yummy.
The next spot is actually inside the BARCELO HOTEL in Rambla de Raval. They have a great Sunday Brunch deal for 25 Euros, which includes a supreme quality buffet, coffee and a cocktail. What’s so special about this Brunch? The interior design and the whole atmosphere in this hotel is just breathtaking and to make it more special: They have a DJ playing music during the Brunch. So you can arrive around 12h, eat loads of the delicious food and enjoy the great vibe..and then a cocktail on the 360° rooftop terrace is included. You can enjoy the stunning views from the terrace and stay for sunbathing. Since the buffet is open until 16h you can even consider going back downstairs to have an afternoon coffee with cake as its still included in the deal.
PICNIC is one of my all time favorites. I believe its one of the first Brunch places which became famous in Barcelona. The location is quite small which is why it is always packed and its necessary to make reservations. It’s in the popular Borne neighborhood at a sunny corner of Calle Commerc. You can’t miss the quinoa hashbrowns as a starter and the Eggs Benedict as a main. And to try something new, you can also get them with salmon instead of the usual bacon. Accompanied by homemade red lemonade and pancakes for dessert. Bon appetite!
I only recently discovered MEATPACKING as a new Brunch option. It’s a super cozy and authentic American diner in Eixample neighborhoos, at the corner of Aribau with Travesera de Gracia. They have a Sunday Brunch menu which includes coffee, one main dish and Bloody Mary for about 14 Euros. I tell you it’s really worth it. And if you are really hungry you should definitely try the Burgers as they are awesome!
The last place I would like to mention is CAFÉ FEDERAL in Sant Antoni. It’s located in the famous Parlament Street, which is the place to be right now. It’s crowded with cute little cafes and bars and the perfect spot to spend a Sunday afternoon “vermuteando”. Vermouth is a common aperitivo in Spain and people usually have it starting around noon on a sunny terrace on the weekend. Café Federal is always packed and probably the best Brunch spot in this area, they specialize in delicious cakes and pastries but also have a variety of Breakfast/Lunch choices. You should try the Morning Burger, a choice you definitely won’t regret!
Now grab your phone and make a reservation for next Sunday, you have many awesome Brunch places to choose from!
