Enjoy the most beautiful beaches south of Barcelona

Hello summer! Barcelona has infinite beaches to visit… This summer traveling is difficult so it’s the perfect plan to go and enjoy the beaches close to here. Great places to go are Sitges, Garraf and Castelldelfels, where you can find beautiful beaches with easy access from the city either by car or by train.

Sitges

Reasons to visit Sitges? There are a million reasons, but mainly because it is very close to Barcelona (35 kilometers to the south) and because it is easily accessible by car (the C-32 motorway can be reached in half an hour if there is not excessive traffic), by train or by bus.

By the way, there is an alternative for those who like to drive: take one of the most beautiful roads in Catalonia, the one that runs along the Garraf coast between Castelldefels and Sitges. There are 86 curves, but the landscape that surrounds you is brutal. Sitges is not only a town with beautiful beaches, it is also perfect for walking and discovering beautiful buildings, especially if you are a lover of vintage architecture. Among its streets we can find buildings as beautiful and emblematic as the Sitges Town Hall, in the Catalan civil Gothic style -end of the 19th century-, full of ornamental details on its windows and shields. Another building worth visiting is the Casa Bacardí, the headquarters of the Bacardí company in the city. We recommend you sit in one of its beach bars that overlook the beach and have lunch or a drink.

Garraf

Garraf’s beaches have a special charm. Warm waters surrounded by fine earth will make you enjoy maximum tranquility. In 25 kilometers of coastline there are small coves surrounded by cliffs, ideal for sharing with your family or as a couple, but there are also wide beaches, perfectly equipped for practicing sports or nautical activities. Beach volleyball, kayaking, sailing and cycling are some of the most common activities in this area.

Do you want to know the most fancy place in Garraf? Little Beach House, the 22nd establishment in the Soho House chain, it was recently opened. It is an exclusive space for all members of the legendary club that now offer the possibility of enjoying the sea in a natural environment where luxury, design and discretion are perfectly combined. Castelldelfels

They are fine sandy beaches with a long tourist tradition. They have a Yacht Club and a Maritime Club and several sailing schools where you can practice multiple water and nautical activities. In this case we recommend the Carita Morena Beach Bar. It is a space that presents a very Mediterranean flair and you can have a cold beer or a delicious menu with incomparable views. At Carita Morena they offer a menu inspired by Mediterranean cuisine and where, in addition, you will also find a wide variety of nutritious juices and smoothies. A beach bar that, in addition, also schedules concerts and activities during the summer months and is ideal for living summer to the fullest.
